The Pink Floyd Experience is here. This extreme cover band has been plying its specialty since 1997, dishing out perhaps the most authentic homage to one of the most unique rock and roll bands to take the stage – Pink Floyd. The sounds and vocals of Pink Floyd are not the easiest to master, but a decade of dedication and paid shows prove these boys have what it takes.
They will be performing live at the Parker Playhouse on February 17th, along with their band’s mascot – a massive, floating pig that hovers over the audience – a 3 dimensional, flying tribute to the cover of Pink Floyd’s Animals album.
“It’s the only pig that I know that navigates and flies, “says band leader Tom Quinn, 55. “We’re on our second pig now. The last one died when the stitching broke down and it lost helium.”
To back up their airborne pork chop and their eerily familiar sounds, 200,000 watts of light and quadraphonic sound await the audience. It sounds like a hoot. If you never had a chance to catch the real band on stage, this might be the chance to at least satisfy yourself with a very earnest simulacrum of one of the most popular rock legends of all time.
