The Geneva Motor Show was the stage for the new Tiguan’s debut, with VW showing off the technically and visually enhanced all-new Tiguan. The Tiguan is also boasting a European tuned suspension for precise handling, without sacrificing a smooth and comfortable ride. Significant improvements have been made to the fuel efficiency, the interior and they added new color options. It is planned for a release this fall.
The 2012 Tiguan design stands out nicely, with the Volkswagen family design gracing the grill, giving it a modern and sleek look. LED daytime running lights are now available with Bi-Xenons and AFS (advanced headlight system) on SEL models and above. Chrome accentuation abounds, yielding a bolder, more polished look. The taillights have been redesigned, too, with the VW-centric “double L” pattern seen on other, recent VW redesigns.
Inside, all three Tiguan trims get enhancements, with high quality cloth seating in the S, V-Tex leatherette for the SE and the SEL gets leather seating with driver memory in either black or beige.
Efficiency-wise, we don’t have any official numbers, yet, but the 2012 Tiguan is expected to be in the range of 25-29 highway mpg with the award-winning 2.0-liter TSI engine with turbo-charged acceleration.
Great news for South Florida! The Tiguan is one of the best-looking compact SUVs on the road today, and it looks like next year’s model will be even more exciting.
